ARE News: Campaign to extend Proposition 55 funding. ARE is proud to support the CTA campaign to protect existing public education funding. Proposition 55, passed by California voters in 2016, makes up roughly 15% of RUSD's state funding. This funding expires in 2030. Our schools CANNOT serve our students effectively without this funding! ARE is proud to announce that 84% of our members signed the petition to place a proposition on the November ballot to make this funding permanent. We are also grateful for the support from our RUSD Board of Trustees who passed their own resolution in support of this effort. On April 9th the RUSD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to pass Resolution SO-25-26:24, In Support of the California Children's Education and Healthcare Protection Act of 2026. Join ARE! ARE members bargain for fair working and learning conditions, so we can ensure that our district provides the schools our students deserve and the compensation and working conditions that our members deserve.
